Shedding the Burden of Hate: on MLK day, let’s remember his greatest teaching

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

What does it mean to choose love over hate? Love is a telescope for hope; love is the only way. Loving our enemies is a tree planted for the future:

What affects one, affects us all. So what benefits us for the moment, if it harms others, is never to our benefit, nor in the name of love.

Love is the heart of the dream, the human dignity of equality, of justice, of full citizenship for all.
